Details.
Amsterdam Windmill Biketour is our most popular guided bike tour. We will start and end this tour by bike in Weesp (which is part of Amsterdam). Weesp is actually called “little Amsterdam”. It’s a comfortable ride through the medieval town of Muiden, along the Vecht river. We will ride up to Amsterdam Castle, and have a coffee or a local beer on your request. This genuinely is the best tour on the outskirts of Amsterdam that shows a little bit of everything along the way!
Grain windmill The Friendship
The Amsterdam Windmill Tour takes you to a grain windmill called The Friendship. It is a beautiful old windmill located in Weesp on the banks of the river Vecht. The windmill is in operation for a few days a week as a traditional flour mill when there is sufficient wind. The mill can be visited free of charge every Saturday, and the well-stocked mill shop is open from 10 am – 4 pm.
Windmill ‘t Haantje
The Amsterdam Windmill Tour is proud to present ‘t Haantje windmill. This iconic windmill was built in 1663 in Amsterdam. The windmill served as a sharpening and sawmill for stones needed for building material for constructions in Amsterdam. In 1820 the mill was moved to Weesp as an oil mill. Following 10 years of high-quality production, the mill was converted for the third time as a grain mill.
Skinny Bridge
The Amsterdam Windmill Tour brings you the long Vecht bridge (skinny bridge). This iconic bridge is a wooden movable folding bridge in the center of Weesp. A national monumental bridge over the river Vecht and the name of the bridge refers to the length of the bridge in relation to other bridges over the river Vecht.
AMSTERDAM CASTLE
Muiden Castle (in Dutch: Muiderslot) was built in 1296. It remains in excellent condition to this day and is open to the public. We think visiting this stunning castle feels like being in a Game of Thrones episode – do you dare to enter!
